Geboren in Olmütz, CZ, begann er im Jahre 1969 mit seinem ersten Instrument, dem Klavier. Nachdem er von der legendären tschechischen Band „Greenhorns“ hörte, faszinierte ihn das 5-saitige Banjo, welches er zum ersten Mal mit 12 spielte und seit dem immer weiter übte. Seine erste Bluegrass Band „PRAM“ (1978-1981) wurde später durch „KOPR“ (1981-1989) ersetzt, welche eine der Top Bands in der tschechischen Bluegrass Szene war.
Nach seiner Flucht nach Österreich im Jahre 1989 und der folgenden Grenzöffnung, gründete er die Band „New River Train“ im Jahr 1993.
Er ist eine der führenden Musiker in der tschechischen und österreichischen Bluegrass Szene, ein exzellenter Singer, Banjo Spieler und Gitarrist.
1999 wurde er auf dem ältesten tschechischen Bluegrass Festival „Banjo Jamboree“ mit einem Platz in der „Hall of Fame“ geehrt.

MOJMIR (BANJO, VOC)
born in Olomouc, CZ. He started to play piano on the local music school from 1969-1975.
After hearing the legendary czech band Greenhorns his fascination for the five string banjo started. He plays the banjo since his age of 12.
His first bluegrass band „PRAM“ (1978-1981) was followed from the band „KOPR“ (1981-1989), which was among the top bands of the czechoslovak bluegrass scene.
After his politic emigration to Austria in 1989, where he has been living till today, and opening the borders he started the „New River Train“ in 1993 and is the leader of the band til today.
He´s one of the leading personalities of the Czech and Austrian bluegrass, an outstanding singer, banjo and guitar player.
In 1999 he was honored to be a member of the Hall of Fame of the oldest czech bluegrass festival „ Banjo Jamboree“.

Milda
(Guitar, Mand, Voc)
Milda started to play country and bluegrass in 1974 with the local band „SEKVOJE“. In 1977 is he one of the founding members of the band „KYVADLO“. The Band was an important part of the czechoslovak bluegrass scene till 1990. After 1990 he was a member of the „Kitchen Band“ together with local matadors of the bluegrass community round the town of Jihlava in the Czech republic. Since 2001 he has been playing as a member of New River Train. He plays mandolin and guitar and sings lead and harmony vocal.
Bereits 1974 spielte Milda Country und Bluegrass in der lokalen Band „Sekvoje“. In 1977 war er eines der Gründermitglieder von der Band „Kyvadlo“, welche ein bedeutender Teil der tschechoslowakischen Bluegrass Szene bis 1990 war. Danach war er ein Mitglied der „Kitchen Band“, welche alle Mitglieder aus der Umgebung von Jihlava bezog, einer Stadt in der Tschechischen Republik. Seit 2001 ist er bei New River Train als Gitarrist, Mandolin-Spieler und Sänger dabei.
Mit 17 begann er den Kontrabass zu spielen, beeindruckt von der Musik der Bands Greenhorns, Kyvadlo, Prazce und CWBC. Seit 1991 spielte er in Bands wie „Svetla Trava“ (1991-1993), „Kabinet“ (1993-1994), „Modrej Stejsn“ (1994-2001) und „Rolls Boys“ (2001-2013), seine erfolgreichste Band die auf Konzerten rund um Europa spielte und 3 CDs aufnahm.
2014 stoß er zu New River Train als Kontrabass-Spieler und Sänger. Instrument: Kontrabass Cremona Luby 1967

He started to play bassfiddle in the age of 17 under influance of hearing the music of the bands Greenhorns, Kyvadlo, Prazce and CWBC in the Czech republic. Since 1991 he went through some bluegrass bands as Svetla Trava (1991-1993), Kabinet (1993-1994), Modrej Stejsn ( 1994-2001) and finally Rolls Boys ( 2001-2013 )- the most successful band - playing some shows around the Europe and recorded 3 CD. 2014 he joined the New River Train playing bassfiddle and singing vocals.
Mira (Fiddle, voc)
Mira started in the age of 17 as a mandolin and fiddle player in local bands Lenochteam and Wobcas. 2006 - 2015 he wasa member of newgrass band Taverna as a fiddle player. He joined New River Train in 2018 on fiddle and vocal.He plays Rudolf Fiedler Unhold instrument and D´Addario strings.
Mira begann mit 17 Jahren in den regionalen bluegrass Bands Lenochteam und Wobcas als Mandoline-und Geigenspieler.In den Jahren 2006-2015 war er Mitglied der newgrass Band Taverna. 2018 kam er zu New River Train. Er singt Bariton vocals. Instrument: Rudolf Fiedler Unhold ( 1996) und D´Addario Seiten.
Ivan (Guitar)
Ivan was born in Olomouc, CZ. After playing the local bluegrass scene with the band TICHO he joined KOPR in middle 80´s.After gathering the friends during the opening the European borders 1989 he was one of the founding members of New River Train in 1993. Quitted 2001 for the reason of own bluegrass and Irish music projet in CZ. It is a great pleasure to have him again in the band since 2018. He plays Yamaha FG guitar and D´Addario strings.
